Cox’sBazaar: Rohingya parents and relatives once again pleaded to King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammed Bin Salman by holding a demonstration in a makeshift camp of Cox’s bazaar, to release the detained Rohingya in Saudi Arabia on 24th July 2018, reports a protester from camp.

Yesterday (24th July), dozens of Rohingya parents and relatives participated in a demonstration to release their detained sons and relatives, whom are in detention centers of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, since 4 – 5 years.

In the protest, they urged and pleaded to the Saudi King and crown prince for taking immediate actions to set the detainees free.

Watch their plea to King Salman:

Detained Rohingya entered Saudi Arabia with passport from different neighboring countries like, Bangladesh, Nepal and others, provided by agents and brokers.

This improper documentation issue made them trapped in Saudi detention centers for years, as they are denied citizenship in their own country, Burma.

“Our people had to flee to Burma due to the state sponsored violence in 2012, so we urge the Saudi government to release the innocent Rohingya from detention,” shouted a Rohingya from the protest.

Rohingya detainees are lingering with serious health issues like Malaria, Diabetics, Fungal infectious diseases, etc, including cases of deaths as well in the detention.

In the demonstration they hold pictures of their detained sons and relatives and explained how they are suffering in camps. Earlier this month in Kutupalong camp, suffering Rohingya parents and relatives organized a protest for the detained Rohingya in Saudi Arabia.

More than hundred thousand of Rohingya are sheltering in Saudi Arabia for decades and they have always thanked Saudi Government for their hospitality and generosity.
