Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh: Few Bangladeshi locals kidnapped a Rohingya teenage boy and demanded a huge sum in the form of ransom from his family yesterday (26 July 2019), reports a Rohingya with testimonial video of the mother.
A Rohingya teenage sheltering at block-D-5, camp 11 of Balukhali two (under supervisor Ayub) was incommunicado from his family past 1-2 months.
Yesterday at 10 AM Rehana, his mother received a call from a Bangladeshi local and said that her son was kidnapped.
Following the kidnapping, when Rehana pleaded for her son’s release, kidnappers demanded 50, 000 taka and set a deadline of twenty-four hours to pay the money.

In the call, they threatened his mother by saying that, if their demands are not fulfilled anything may happen to him and she will never able to see her son. The boy was named to be Abu Salam 15, S/O Shomshu Alam.

Now, Abu Salam’s parents are extremely worried for his life and they urged responsible authorities to help and take immediate action to release her son.
Since 2016, 1.3 million Rohingya are sheltering in the makeshift camps of Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh and since their arrival Bangladeshi government & locals have been extremely kind in hosting such a huge no. of genocide survivors.
