HYDERABAD – Rohingya refugee camp in Hyderabad of India is flooded recently by downpour and many refugee families were seriously affected.
The most affected was Camp No. 30 in Balapur of Hyderabad’s Baba Nagar. Ali Husain, a resident of the camp said, “many families are affected by the flood caused by heavy rain and some other families are packing their bags to leave in preparation for the possible heavier rains.”
He added “the water in some locations is knee-deep and in other a little bit shallower. However people can’t sleep nor cook foods and the water wet their belongings. Every body stayed standing up or leaving to safe places.”
Hyderabad has tens of refugee settlements which house thousands of refugees, mostly of Rohingya minority. They live very necessitous conditions without any basic needs fulfilled.
