Cox’s Bazaar, Bangladesh: A Rohingya area administrator (Mazi) and chairman had been harassed and tortured by a Bangladeshi local at a makeshift camp in Alikhali area of Cox’s Bazaar, Bangladesh, reports a local.
Yesterday, an area administrator (Mazi) and chairman named Rahim Ullah of Camp-25, Ali Khali has been harassed by a local Bangladeshi named Jaber in a meeting organized by Camp in Charge (CIC) and IOM.
The victim originally hailing from Hassurata village of Maungdaw Township and is also a genocide survivor, who arrived with his family in late 2017.

According to locals, he has been harassing and targeting Rohingya in the area and were also heard to be extorting money from Rohingya men and molesting Rohingya women.
A few days back, Rohingya in the area witnessed him beating an INGO worker, who came to distribute aid to the Rohingya in the area.
Due to his severe harassment and torture, sheltering Rohingya in the area have applied multiple times to multiple agencies to relocate their shelters. But until now they did not receive any help or protection from any agencies.
Locals in the area have been thanking Bangladeshi Government for sheltering them and they pleaded to responsible agencies to help them relocate to a different shelter to minimize their daily sufferings.
Since 2016, 1.3 million Rohingya are sheltering in apartheid makeshift camps in Cox’s Bazaar, Bangladesh and they still awaits justice and their deserved right before returning to their ancestral land.
