BUTHIDAUNG – A Rohingya monor boy is critically injured in a landmine blast in Ye Chan Pyin Ywar Thit hamlet of Tha Yet Pyin, Southern Buthidaung yesterday.
The victim identified to be Nabi Husain, 12, son of Amir Hussain was herding cows in a pasture, the landmine exploded to rip the minor’s legs apart and into pieces leaving other major and minor injuries on other parts of the body including the face.
The area is a spot of clashes between Rakhine rebels and Myanmar military and the landmine is believed to have been planted by either.
The boy is admitted to Buthidaung Public Hospital in extremely critical condition. Even though his recovery is hardly expected, he is already deprived of his two legs forever.
Tens of Rohingya were hunted intentionally or unintentionally during the ethnic clashes between Rakhine and Bamar.
