An arson attack happened in Camp 13, Block B3, Thainkhali, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, today at around 10:30 in the morning.
A source said that “the fire started at the CARITAS office and spread to the shelters of the Rohingya refugees, burning many of their shelters and properties.”
According to the SMS focal, approximately 210 Rohingya refugees’ shelters were completely burned down to ashes, and more than 220 shelters were damaged.
According to IOM “210 shelters, 1 CFS, 1 Community Safe Space, 1 mosque, 45 latrines, 25 bathing cubicles, and 1 distribution center, where 45 shops were located, were burned down to ashes.”
220 shelters and 8 tap stands for water were damaged.
A total of 4,000 people have been left shelterless after the fire accident in Block B3, Camp 13, Thainkhali, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.
It is known that approximately 10 Rohingya refugees were injured during the fire accident and they are now admitted to hospitals. Many children have been lost.
