A Rohingya woman residing in Rwa Ma Rohingya village, located in Buthidaung Township, Arakan State, Myanmar, was gravely injured in a bomb attack orchestrated by AA on May 1st, 2024, at approximately 11 o’clock in the morning. Identified as Nur Jahan, daughter of Ali Juhar and aged around 55, she sustained severe wounds to her left chest and abdomen. Currently hospitalized in Buthidaung, she is undergoing treatment for her injuries.
Eyewitnesses report that more than three bombs, launched by AA, struck Nur Jahan’s compound, resulting in her injury and the complete destruction of her home. Several neighboring residences also suffered partial collapse as a consequence of the attack.
Tragically, five Rohingyas, including three women and two children from Ward No. 01 in Buthidaung downtown, lost their lives in a launcher bomb attack by AA. Additionally, another woman sustained critical injuries. The Rohingya community mourns these losses as they grapple with the ongoing violence in their region.
