Two innocent Rohingya civilians, residents of Ywama Rohingya village in Buthidaung Township, Arakan State, Myanmar, were apprehended by the Myanmar military on May 8, 2024.
The two innocent Rohingya civilians, arbitrarily apprehended by the Myanmar military, are identified as Amir Ahmed, son of Azim Uddin, approximately 36 years old, and Soyedur Rahaman, approximately 53 years old.
Amir Ahmed is an employee of MSF in Buthidaung Township, and Soyedur Rahaman is the headmaster of the primary school in Tha Yet Kin Ma Nu. Both are residents of Ywama Rohingya village in Buthidaung Township.
A source stated that the two innocent Rohingya civilians were apprehended without any reason while they were on their way to Ward No. 01 in the mosque to perform prayers.
Despite two days having passed since their apprehension by the Myanmar military, the two innocent Rohingya civilians have not been released. The residents of Ywama Rohingya village are worried about them and demand their release as soon as possible.
