Rohingya youths from the Kyyaru Pyin Rohingya village in northern Maungdaw, Arakan State, Myanmar, have been forcibly enumerated, with some subsequently recruited by the AA on April 3, 2024.
According to sources, the AA listed 30 Rohingya youths from Kyyaru Pyin, of whom 10 were forcibly recruited on April 3rd.
“The 10 recruited youths were taken by truck towards Thet Ye Oke Rakhine village, where the AA has its base camp,” the source reported.
The AA has intimidated villagers, stating that the enumerated youths who escaped must be handed over within the week. Failure to comply will result in the detention of family members and the confiscation and looting of their homes.
Similarly, the AA has begun coercing Rohingya youths in Na Ku Ya Rohingya village in northern Maungdaw Township, Arakan State, Myanmar, to collaborate.
On May 2, 2024, the AA held a meeting with Rohingya villagers from Na Ku Ya, threatening that one youth per household must serve the AA. Those who resist will face the burning of the village and the abduction of many villagers.
