Rohingya villages have been reduced to ashes without any reason by the AA in Buthidaung Township, Arakan State, Myanmar.
“On the evening of Tuesday, May 14th, 2024, at around 9 o’clock, two Rohingya villages were set ablaze by the AA. These villages, Thin Shar Pyin (Lambabil) and Baggona Taung Ywar, belong to Rohingyas,” a source reported.
“The intentional burning of these villages by the AA occurred without any provocation. The villages were devoid of villagers as they had been forcibly displaced by the AA in the preceding week. Despite the absence of residents, the AA set the villages ablaze,” the source continued.
“No clashes had taken place between the Myanmar military and the AA in these villages. The AA forcibly entered the Rohingya villages, displaced the villagers, and subsequently set the villages on fire on the evening of Tuesday, May 14th, 2024, at around 9 o’clock,” the source added.
“The AA, having gained control over Thin Shar Pyin (Lambabil) and Baggona Taung Ywar, burned down the villages despite the absence of Rohingya villagers,” the source recorded.
“A resident of Buthidaung revealed that Rohingya villagers from various villages are being relocated to the southern part of Sin Yon Pyin, Haraghali, and other areas by the AA. However, the residents remain uncertain about the AA’s intentions,” the source concluded.
