Rohingya youths abducted and forcibly recruited by the Arakan Army (AA) have been kept without communication with their families and villagers since their abduction in Maungdaw Township, Arakan State, Myanmar.
In April alone, 90 Rohingya youths from various villages in northern Maungdaw Township were abducted by the Arakan Army.
- On 1st April, 32 Rohingya youths from Ngant Chaung village were abducted.
- On 5th April, 11 Rohingya youths from Keyaru Pyin village were taken.
- On 8th April, 20 Rohingya youths from Ngakhura village were kidnapped.
- On 15th April, 27 Rohingya youths from U Chin Cha village were abducted.
Since their abduction, these 90 Rohingya youths have been kept without any communication with their families, relatives, and villagers. Their whereabouts remain unknown.
The families, relatives, and villagers of these abducted youths are deeply concerned, fearing that they are being used as human shields by the Arakan Army. They demand the immediate release of all the abducted youths if they are still alive.
Similarly, Rohingyas in Buthidaung, Rathedaung, Kyauktaw, Minbya, and Pauktaw Townships are also suffering persecution by the Arakan Army.
