A Rohingya student was killed in a drone attack launched by the Arakan Army (AA) in Myo Ma Ka Yin Taung Rohingya village, Maungdaw Township, Arakan State, Myanmar, on July 12th.
The deceased, identified as Mohammad Anis, son of Kamal, was about 24 years old and from Myo Ma Ka Yin Taung village. Mohammad Anis, a second-year university student known for his talent, was killed in the attack at approximately 3:30 PM on July 12, 2024.
Simultaneously, four young Rohingya men and one young Rohingya girl sustained serious injuries in the drone attack. The injured are in critical condition, and their chances of recovery are slim due to the severity of their wounds, making immediate treatment imperative.
A source indicated that the drone originated from the AA base in Pan Taw Pyin Rohingya village and struck Myo Ma Ka Yin Taung Rohingya village, resulting in the death of Mohammad Anis and serious injuries to five others, including a girl.
The source alleged that the AA is intentionally targeting Rohingyas to expel them from their original villages, allowing the AA to take control and use these villages as battlefields against the Myanmar military.
