A Rohingya child was injured due to bombardments by the Myanmar military in Minbya Township, Arakan State, on the 16th of March 2024.
The Myanmar military bombed Purin village in Minbya Township on the 16th of March 2024 at about 7:00 AM, injuring an adolescent Rohingya boy.
A resident said, βThe Myanmar military came with a warplane and began dropping bombs. One of the bombs hit an adolescent Rohingya boy, causing injuries. This incident occurred on the morning of the 16th of March at around 7:00 AM in Purin village, Minbya Township, Arakan State.β
He added, βThe warplane that dropped the bombs is believed to be a Y-12 warplane.β
The injured adolescent boy is Nur Hannodin, son of Mohammad Shofi. He resides in Purin village, Minbya Township, Arakan State. His hands were shattered and he sustained minor injuries to the body.
Additionally, the Myanmar military arrived with jet fighters and attacked Min Ba Gyi village, Minbya Township, Arakan State on the 17th of March 2024 at about 9 a.m.
During the bombardments by jet fighters from the Military Council, a bomb struck a school, namely Basic Education Secondary School, located in Min Ba Gyi Ward in Minbya Township, causing severe damage. The school almost collapsed.
Similarly, the Myanmar military targeted the villages of Minpu, The Ken, Emtha, and other towns in Minbya Township with warplanes, resulting in a significant public loss. Many schools, hospitals, and residential buildings were destroyed in Minbya Township, Arakan State.
