A massive fire broke out at block-H of Camp No. 1 of Rohingya refugee camp located in Lombashiagona, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, today (May 12, 2020) at around 8.30 am.
At least 300 houses burnt to ashes and another 350 houses along with few mini shops were partially damaged. It is believed that the fire was initiated from a gas cylinder explosion used for cooking.

Bangladesh fire-fighting service acted speedily to take control of the blaze. It took at least 2 hours to halt fire totally. The monetary losses are expected to be high.
At least 10 Rohingya refugees sustained non-life-threatening burn injuries and more than 650 Rohingya families are affected in this catastrophe.
