The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) store, located in Ka Yin Den Ward, Maungdaw Township, Arakan State of Myanmar, was looted by the Myanmar military.
Boxes of fish, lights, mats, batteries, tarpaulins, and many other goods were taken from the ICRC store by the Border Guard Police over the past few days.
According to a resident of Maungdaw, the looted items, including lights, mats, batteries, solar panels, and tarpaulins, are being sold at low prices to the residents of downtown Maungdaw by the Myanmar military. Passersby are approached and sold these materials at reduced prices.
The Myanmar military also photographs people buying goods from them at these low prices. This has led residents to believe that the military might later blame them for the looting of the ICRC office.
