Cox’s Bazaar, Bangladesh: Symptoms of cyclone Fani are observed in the skies of makeshift camps in Cox’s Bazaar, Bangladesh, reports a Rohingya yesterday (2nd May 2019), from a makeshift camp.
Since yesterday, heavy wind and dark clouds were seen in the skies of makeshift camps and these had left the sheltering Rohingya in extreme fear and panic.
Todays’ latest news from Al Jazeera confirmed that a Bangladeshi woman was dead in Bangladesh, where the storm was headed.Β
Due to the heavy wind and dark clouds, Rohingya in several makeshift camps were seen in repairing shelters in their best possible ways.
For the weak shelters, Rohingya in camp-25 of Alikhali makeshift camps complained of their damaged shelters and stated their immediate need of trampoline and rope.
Regarding the matter, they sent a testimonial video to Rohingya Vision TV and mentioned about the INGOs that promised them of providing raw materials for rebuilding their shelters.
The sufferings of Rohingya in the camps have further increased with fear and panic and their broken shelters alarm them of the upcoming disastrous situation in the current Cyclone Fani.
Since 2016, after fleeing genocidal operation in Arakan nearly 1.3 million Rohingya are sheltering in the makeshift camps of Bangladesh, making it to one of the largest refugee camps in the world.
