Arakan Aramy (AA), a Rakhine terrorist group in Myanmar, is reportedly collecting taxes from the Rohingyas in Rathedaung Township by oppressing them racially and religiously.
In 2017, only five Rohingya villages remained in Rathedaung Township after the clearance operation, mostly known as genocidal operation against Rohingya, by Burmese army in the area of northern Rakhine State.
In Ratherdaung, AA has already formed committees, consisting of 12 members each and is collecting taxes at a time when the Rohingya people in the villages have severely been restricted due to the ban on all movements and employments, a local resident said.
In Anauk Pyin village tract under Rathedaung Township, there are 585 houses of Rohingya and AA has been collecting 5000 Kyat and 5 Thaik (approximately 6 KG) of rice per house since the last 6 months.
The 12 members of a committee forcibly formed with the Rohingya villagers in Anauk Pyin village tract to collect monthly taxes according to AA direction are:
1. Tabarek (s/o) Abu Taher
2. Salim (s/o) Noor Islam
3. Mamad Tayup (b) Shuna Mia
4. Hubaya (s/o) Noor bakshu
5. Noor Kamal (s/o) Gura Mia
6. Kayas (s/o) Shari Huson
7. Junaied (s/o) Sheikh Amat
8. Mohammad Rafik (s/o) Noor Bakshu
9. Mamad Rahim (s/o) Ali Akbar
10. Aye Maung (s/o) Kasim
11. Abbas (s/o) Lalu Shey and
12. Jabber (s/o) Abu.
Before 2017, only the Burmese authorities had tortured the Rohingya but now the Arakan Army (AA) has also involved in the Rohingya massacre and the groups of genocidaires has unexpectedly doubled in Rakhine state.
