Hlegu ― Myanmar authorities arrested 49 Rohingya trafficking victims in Hlegu township, Yangon Region on February 19, 2020, according to RFA.
The source also mentioned that they have been arrested from a gully about three furlong away from Chite Gon hamlet of Sabu Taung VT located near the mile post (25 mile 6 furlong) of Yangon-Naypyidaw Highway.
The caravan of exodus comprises 18 men, 28 women and 3 children. They hail from Kyaukpyu, Sittwe, Minbya and Buthidaung and were being trafficked to Malaysia.
The victims will soon be sent for trial, according to the source.
