On June 27, 2024, numerous Rohingya youths were abducted by the Arakan Army (AA) in Buthidaung Township, Arakan State of Myanmar.
The abductions involved 21 Rohingya youths, residents of Ali Chaung village in Buthidaung Township, who were taken under false allegations.
In the past week alone, more than 170 Rohingya youths from various villages in Buthidaung Township have been abducted by the AA. These individuals are currently undergoing training at the AA Military Battalion in Ali Chaung.
According to sources, some of the abducted youths have been deployed in Maungdaw Township to engage in combat against the Myanmar military.
A resident of Maungdaw reported that dead bodies were discovered in Maungdaw Township, likely belonging to the abducted Rohingya youths from Buthidaung.
The AA is reportedly using Rohingyas as human shields in their ongoing conflict in Maungdaw Township, Arakan State of Myanmar.
