On the morning of May 27th, at around 5 o’clock, the Myanmar military encircled Ward No. 03 (Wimala village) in downtown Maungdaw and apprehended numerous Rohingyas found in the village.
Approximately 150 Myanmar military personnel entered Ward No. 03, Maungdaw downtown, surrounding the entire area. They apprehended about 35 Rohingyas, whose faces and eyes were veiled, and took them to the school in Ward No. 03 (Wimala village).
The detained Rohingyas were released after interrogation at around 2 o’clock in the afternoon on May 27th, 2024.
