UKHIYA — A massive fire broke out in Camp No. 22 of Rohingya refugee camp located in Unsiprang, Ukhiya, Bangladesh, today (April 1, 2020) at noon.
The losses are feared to be high, as the makeshifts are made up of bamboos, plastic, woods, and grasses, which easily fuel the fire and help it spread faster. In addition, the local weather is sunny and the camp is an overpopulated area.
It is impossible for the fire brigade to come and extinguish the fire while the camp itself has no such preparation.
The reason of the burning is to be known yet and the causalities as well.
